Isle of Raasay Peated Chinkapin Cask #19/50
Freshly charred and toasted, these custom Chinkapin or Quercus Muehlenbergii casks are made from American white oak, a species of oak native to central and eastern North America.
The fresh charring of the cask brings rich color and flavor early in the aging process, and the high toasting caramelizes the natural sugars in the wood. Expect sweet toffee and caramel on the nose, with vibrant dark fruit flavors and deep, rich colors early on.
